Every story begins somewhere and this one began with the marriage of Christopher Rawson Penfold and Mary Penfold in England England in 1835. At this moment in time they took the wedding vowels Pende Valde, Latin for ‘very dependable’ which has since been entrenched into the family motto and family crest. From this moment, history was to be written as the couple set sail to Australia to start a family full of wine entrepreneurs.
